Blackpink member Lisa remains the most-followed K-pop artist on Instagram after she surpassed a whopping 53 million followers Wednesday.
The Thai rapper continues to win the hearts of many with her exemplary talent, resulting in her massively growing fan base on social media.
In February, Lisa was first proclaimed as the most-followed K-pop idol on the popular photo-sharing site after she garnered more than 46.1 million followers at the time. Blackpink member Jennie landed in second place with 39.2 million, while Rosé and Jisoo tied with 35.5 million.
At present, Jennie has a total of 45.7 million Instagram followers. Rosé, on the other hand, garnered 41.2 million followers, while Jisoo has 41.1 million followers.
The never-ending increase in Blackpink member Lisa’s follower count is being credited to her forthcoming solo debut. YG Entertainment, previously, revealed that the group’s main dancer would be releasing her first-ever solo track before 2021 ends.
Lisa, in an interview with Vogue Korea, confirmed that her solo debut is happening "very soon." She even promised her devoted supporters that they would be seeing a new side of her.
“My solo album is coming soon. As it’s my first solo album, we’re working hard to show you a new side of me. I’ll repay you with music and style that will show you my own color. Please look forward to it,” the Blackpink member said.
Though YG Entertainment has not announced the official release date of Lisa’s forthcoming solo track, various entertainment outlets claimed that her first solo album would be released in June.
Last week, DJ Snake gave fans a sneak peek of his supposed collaboration with Lisa. The French record producer shared a four-second clip of an unreleased track on his Instagram story on May 19.
The video, wherein the official Instagram accounts of Lisa and Blackpink were tagged, showed a female vocalist singing, “all night with you.” However, it was unclear who the singer was.
Earlier this month, DJ Snake claimed in a series of now-deleted tweets that he worked with Lisa. He even stated, at the time, that his collaboration with the Thai dancer was “done” already.
