In an interview with Elle Korea, Blackpink’s Rosé revealed details about her solo debut, including the release of her first solo album titled “-R-.” The K-pop idol shared that, initially, she was a bit doubtful and ashamed about the idea of having her own album without co-members Jennie, Lisa, and Jisoo.
Rosé admitted to having self-doubts while writing the songs and preparing the album in general. Despite having second thoughts, the “GONE” songstress said the unwavering support she got from her loved ones and avid supporters pushed her to achieve it.
“I am very grateful to receive so much love,” Blackpink member Rosé said during the interview. “I think I’ll be able to be more flexible and enjoy my activities when the next opportunity comes,” she went on.
Rosé further said, now, she analyzes the stories and feelings of the artists whenever she hears a song.
“I hope that what I want to convey through the song will be delivered well. I want to be that kind of singer,” the Blackpink artist added.
Aside from Rosé, Jennie also made her solo debut in 2016. Earlier this year, YG Entertainment revealed that Blackpink member Lisa would also launch a solo album later this year. Jisoo, for her part, would star in the upcoming South Korean drama titled “Snowdrop.”
