It looks like Blackpink's Rosé has found a new fan in singer John Mayer, who recently sent her a guitar as a thank you for covering his song "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room."
Roseanne Park, who is widely known as Rosé, posted an Instagram story Thursday of the lovely pink electric guitar from the “Your body is a wonderland” singer, and captioned it “Life is complete,” while thanking Mayer for the gift.
Mayer had enclosed a thank you note inside the electric guitar’s case that read: “Rosé, I should be thanking you! (so thank you) – John.”
The gift comes two weeks after Rosé impressed her audience with her rendition of “Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” on the first episode of JTBC’s “Sea of hope,” in June, Koreaboo reported.
The music variety show, “Sea of Hope,” premiered on June 29 with its first guest, Rosé. The show’s cast comprised 31-year-old SHINee vocalist Onew, “Tale of the nine-tailed” star Lee Dong Wook, AKMU vocalist Lee Suhyun, Kim Go Eun, Lee Ji Ah and Yoon Jong Shin.
“Slow Dancing in a Burning Room” is a song that belongs to Mayer’s third studio album released in September 2006.
The electric guitar called “Silver Sky” was designed by Mayer in collaboration with PRS Guitars. The Roxy Pink variant is similar to the South Korean superstar’s favorite color, Pink.
Mayer was first spotted with the Roxy Pink edition guitar in his June performance at “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” where he sang his latest single, “Last Train Home,” according to Guitar.com.
“It’s been a dream of mine for years to design a guitar that includes some of my favorite vintage specifications but with a modern spirit and aesthetic. After two years of study and refinement, the ‘Silver Sky’ is my vision of what a reboot of the electric guitar should look and feel like,” Mayer wrote in PRS Guitars website.
Silver Sky’s “Roxy Pink” edition of electric guitars is paired with a rosewood fingerboard with small bird inlays, Guitar.com reported.
“The Strat-style guitar features an alder wood body and maple neck, fitted with a bone nut and a double action truss rod. Its electronics include a trio of 635JM single-coils, routed to a single volume knob, two tone controls and a five-way selector,” Guitar.com described the instrument.
