Blake Shelton’s Song ‘Turnin’ Me On’ Is All About Girlfriend Gwen Stefani
Blake Shelton referenced his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, in at least one song from his upcoming album.
“Texoma Shore” is set to be released on Nov. 3, and one of its tracks, “Turnin’ Me On,” is all about Shelton’s feelings for Stefani. One line from the song reads, “She’s Revlon red in the blackest night, lighting up the room in the world just like she’s turnin’ me on.”
According to Entertainment Tonight, Stefani has been a brand ambassador for Revlon cosmetics for several years. The No Doubt singer has also been an advocate for a bold red lip. “Turnin’ Me On” was written by Shelton with the help of Jessi Alexander and Josh Osborne.
Last month, “The Voice” coach dished on what fans can expect from “Texoma Shore” and said that it’s not as personal as his 2016 album, “If I’m Honest.”
“There’s a song or two on there that are directly personal, but you know, for the most part I just made an album that feels how I feel now – that’s just happy and go with the flow. That’s kinda how the album feels when you listen to it. There might be one or two songs that kind of feel like, you know, I lost my dog and my wife, but it’s really just more an overall feel,” he told the same publication.
“Texoma Shore” will consist of 11 songs. Some of which were written by Craig Wiseman, Ben Hayslip, Rhett Akins, Ashley Gorley and Ross Copperman.
Meanwhile, Stefani has also referenced her boyfriend in her new Christmas album. “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” dropped on Oct. 6 and according to US Weekly, it contained several references to Shelton. The couple also has a duet in the album.
Stefani wrote some of the songs in her album, including “My Gift is You,” which is rumored to be all about the country singer. The former “The Voice” coach also released a song, titled “Never Kissed Anyone With Blue Eyes Before You,” which is a direct nod at Shelton who has blue eyes.
Shelton and Stefani started dating in 2015 after working together in the NBC singing reality TV competition.
