Bob Saget Discusses Passion For Stand-Up Comedy In His Podcast's Final Episode [Watch]
Bob Saget opened up about his love for stand-up comedy in the final episode of his podcast, which was released posthumously Monday.
The last episode of "Bob Saget's Here for You" opened with Bill Burr paying a tribute to the actor who died on Jan. 9 at the age of 65.
"I've been asked to have the honor to do the intro for unfortunately Bob Saget's last episode of his podcast 'Bob Saget's Here for You,' which I think is a perfectly named podcast for him where that guy really was there for everybody," Burr said.
The 53-year-old stand-up comedian praised Saget for being one of the "funniest human beings" and "one of the nicest" people. Burr also revealed that the late actor had "a lot of pain in life and he wanted to make sure no one else felt it and he did the best that he could and with that by helping out everybody."
The tribute was followed by Saget sharing a brief story from his childhood and then introducing his guest, comedian Margaret Cho.
"I'm doing stand-up now, and I'm different," Saget told Cho. "I mean, the way I'm talking to people, the stories I'm telling. I didn't know I was going to love stand-up as much as I love it."
He then talked about his growing love for stand-up comedy, noting that he was doing longer sets and saying "serious sh-t" he had never done before.
Saget and Cho also discussed racism and the crimes committed against Asian Americans, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The episode ended with Saget praising Cho, describing her as a "pioneer" and a "legend." He also said she's "iconic" and even invited fans to check out her website and upcoming shows.
Comments from fans quickly poured in after the episode was uploaded on YouTube.
"Tearing up here. Bill's tribute is so genuine. RIP, Danny Tanner. You were America's dad with a dirty sense of humor and a heart of gold," one of them read.
Another fan commented, "RIP Bob. I wondered if he had made another episode for his podcast before his passing. Glad to see we get one last chance to hear him joke along with his guest. Thank you for all the laughs."
Saget, whose real name is Robert Lane Saget, was born on May 17, 1956, in Philadelphia. He played Danny Tanner on the popular sitcom "Full House" from 1987 to 1995.
