‘Bold And The Beautiful’ Spoilers: Rick Shares Unsettling News With Maya

They thought things were all taken care of when it came to their legally adopting Lizzy as their own daughter. However, Rick will need to inform Maya that what they previously believed to be true actually isn’t the case on the Monday, June 19 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful.”

Rick (Jacob Young) was previously informed by Carter (Lawrence St. Victor) on the CBS soap that the adoption papers he, Maya (Karla Mosley) and Nicole (Reign Edwards) all signed after Lizzy’s birth which made Maya the baby’s legal mother contained a major error. As a result, the adoption has not been processed, and legally speaking, Nicole could fight to keep Lizzy if she wanted, and that is something that could be a big problem for the couple.

“Apparently we have an issue with our adoption papers,” he says to Maya in a preview clip.

However, neither one will be overly concerned about Nicole putting up a fight when it comes to giving up her rights to Lizzy, since she had agreed to be their surrogate when they wanted a baby. Though Nicole is also biologically Lizzy’s mother, she had agreed to only serve as an aunt to the baby, and while the current situation is inconvenient, it doesn’t seem like one they need to be too worried about.

Because she isn’t too concerned, Maya will quickly bring the papers to her sister, explaining that they need to sign the new ones as fast as possible, because they all want to put this behind them and move on with their lives.

“Carter dropped off this paperwork to Ridge, and now we have to do a few signatures,” Maya says in the clip.

“What is it?” Nicole asks.

“The adoption papers,” Maya replies.

“I thought that was finalized a long time ago,” Nicole says.

This news will be particularly shocking to Nicole, who has since been dealt a major blow to her hopes of having a child of her own with her husband, Zende (Rome Flynn). After the two failed to conceive, she saw a doctor, where she learned that scarring she had gotten while she carried Lizzy had made it possible that she would never be able to conceive or carry another child again. Because she can’t have another baby, she has been more emotionally attached to Lizzy than ever before, and now, she may see this as a sign that she should resist giving up her rights as a mother.

Now, she may shock Maya with unexpected news that her older sister never thought she’d have to worry about. She will refuse to sign the papers, and may reveal she now wants to fight for custody of Lizzy.

This news will devastate and enrage Maya, who has been caring for Lizzy as her mother since birth, and she won’t understand why her sister is suddenly making it harder for her to continue being a mom. Though she knew about Nicole’s struggles, she didn’t imagine that they would come into play now, and possibly destroy the family she has created with Rick since.
