‘Bones’ Season 12 Spoilers: What Happened In Episode 6? Booth And Brennan Solve A Lumberjack’s Murder In ‘The Flaw In The Saw’ [RECAP]
“Bones” returned to Fox this week with its usual case of the week format. After solving the murder of a tutor in episode 5, episode 6 saw Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) solve the mysterious death of a golfer-turned-lumberjack.
The murder victim was Phyllis Paul (Melissa Tracy), an ace golfer who became a lumberjack. Her body is found hacked into pieces with an electric saw in a dumpster. Yikes! The Jeffersonian proceeds to investigate the scene of the crime while the FBI agents talk to Phyllis’ girlfriend Nancy (Igna Cadranel). Nancy informs the team that there was some rivalry between her girlfriend and Helga (Stephanie Czajkowski), a fellow lumberjack. Helga is married to a man named Ragnar (Trevor Torseth, side note: funny names, no?).
Helga makes it clear in “Bones” Season 12, episode 6 that she and Phyllis were training partners. There really wasn’t any rivalry between them.
Booth and Brennan check out a lumberjack competition and learn that their murder victim had a feud with Jack Flap (David Koechner), a man who makes pancakes for a living and owns a food truck. Suspiciously, Phyllis had reported his food truck to the health department so he may have killed her over it. But Jack insists that it wasn’t a big deal and treats Aubrey (John Boyd) to a round of delicious pancakes.
It isn’t long before the Jeffersonian realize that Helga and Phyllis were having an affair. They weren’t only “training.” Booth immediately suspects Ragnar but it wasn’t him. Even Nancy got to know about the affair this morning when the jeweler called about an engagement ring. Wait, there is an engagement ring?
Turns out that after the health inspector analyzed Jack’s food truck, he had to get a new one. He couldn’t afford a new truck so he stole Phyllis’ engagement ring to fund it. When she found out that he stole it, he killed her. Case closed.
“Bones” Season 12, episode 6 ended with Hodgins (T.J. Thyne) going to Cam (Tamara Taylor) regarding new evidence that might be useful in redeeming Zack (Eric Millegan). Cam immediately wonders if Hodgins is planting evidence to exonerate him. But she agrees to take a look at it anyway.
“Bones” Season 12 airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. EST on Fox.
