  • Gervonta Davis talks about Logan Paul
  • Davis claims he had knocked out a heavyweight in one sparring session
  • "Tank" is also being dubbed by some as the "Mini Mike Tyson"

An undefeated lightweight boxing champ has weighed in on his chances of knocking out internet sensation Logan Paul.

Gervonta Davis is one of the most celebrated lightweights in the world today. His incredible knockout power has earned him the moniker “Mini Mike Tyson,” but his mentor Floyd Mayweather Jr. thinks he’s a mix of “Iron Mike” with a little bit of Manny Pacquiao.

Sharing his thoughts on the recent Mayweather vs. Paul exhibition match, Davis--who is said to have knocked out a natural heavyweight in a sparring session in the past--was asked if he could put Paul face-first on the mat.

According to Davis, he’s not sure if he can put Paul to sleep as the YouTuber is “bigger” than the heavyweights he had knocked out.

“He’s big as hell,” Davis told Elie Seckbach of EsNews. “He’s like bigger than them heavyweights so, I don’t know.”

Though there was no proof that can back Davis and his team’s claim about knocking out a heavyweight in sparring, one of the lightweight champ’s training partners vividly remembers what actually happened during the said session.

Apparently, “Tank” hit a certain “heavyweight boy” so hard some thought he actually “died” inside the ring.

“Well, Tank (Davis) knocked out a heavyweight,” a sparring partner told EsNews last year. “I was about to spar Tank, but before I was about to spa, he was in there with this big heavyweight boy.”

“He (Davis) hit him so hard that he was [laying on the top of the ropes] and I thought he had died.”

When quizzed to comment on how heavyweights should take his power, Davis replied, “Just don’t get in there with me. That’s it that’s how they take it.”

Paul, on the other hand, is looking forward to also take on a host of boxing greats, having already shared the ring with Mayweather.

While the social media star has yet to set his sights on the “Mini Tyson,” he recently hinted at his desire to face the real Tyson next.

“Someone mentioned Mike Tyson, like how funny is it?” Paul said on his podcast. “One great at a time. Or is it like you can only fight one?"

“My lawyer mentioned it and he was like, ‘No, Tyson will rip your head off, you don’t stand a chance.’ I’m like, ‘bro, I literally just went through all of this, you can’t tell me I can’t beat Mike Tyson. Bro, he’s old, old.'”
