Bronx Man Confesses To Murdering Girlfriend After She Stayed Out Overnight
A 24-year-old man from the Bronx has been charged following his girlfriend's murder after turning himself in to authorities and confessing to the crime.
Angel Esteban Felix Rodriguez walked into the 48th Precinct station house on Wednesday evening with an interpreter and said he killed Indira Ramirez-Rivera, 21, two days prior. Now, he faces charges including murder and manslaughter.
Rodriguez said he committed the crime because was angry his girlfriend had stayed out overnight, police sources told the New York Post. After he confessed, he gave his apartment keys to cops, who then found Ramirez-Rivera's body.
The NYPD says Ramirez-Rivera was found on a bed in the basement apartment they shared with trauma to her neck. The Post reported Rivera was discovered "strangled to death."
"I had a physical fight with my girlfriend. I choked her. She's dead," Rodriguez told police, according to a criminal complaint obtained by the NY Daily News.
One neighbor, Smiley Rodriguez, who is unrelated to the boyfriend, told The Post, “They seemed lovable but then they argued and it was heated."
