South Korean global sensation BTS has ended the Las Vegas concert series by teasing a new project.
Amid cheers from the sold-out crowd at the "Permission to Dance On Stage" concert Saturday, BTS presented a black-and-white video showcasing their musical journey, beginning from their debut in 2013 until the release of "Butter" in 2021. Toward the end of the 42-second clip, the septet announced, "We Are Bulletproof," and the date "June 10, 2022" appeared on the screen.
BTS' music label, Big Hit Music, has confirmed on the online fan platform Weverse that Jungkook, RM, Jimin, Jin, J-Hope, Suga and V will return with a new album on June 10.
"This is Big Hit Music. BTS will be back with another new album on June 10, 2022. Details on the new album will be provided in a separate notice at a later date. We look forward to your love and support for BTS' new album," Big Hit Music said.
The boy band members took an extended break last December following their successful "Permission To Dance" concerts in Los Angeles. Big Hit Music had announced at the time that the septet will return to prepare for a new album, which will herald the group's "new chapter." The upcoming album will be a follow-up to the group's 2020 hit "BE."
BTS will also celebrate its ninth anniversary in June.
At the Vegas concert Saturday, the crowd roared in excitement as J-Hope asked for a round of applause for Jin toward the end of the show. "I want a big round of applause, a big cheer, for Jin. He made sure that he's not idle and still involved in every way he can even when we were practicing," J-Hope said. "So give him a big shout-out. None of the performances in Las Vegas felt incomplete in any way, hyung (older brother)."
Jin could not hide his surprise as the group's main dancer made the speech. Videos shared by fans showed Jin wiping away tears while maintaining a huge smile.
Earlier, Jin assured fans that his left index finger is healing following his surgery in March.
"I wrap it because any more [big] trauma on it would mean I have to get surgery again. But if I pretend that it hurts, people get more careful around me," the 29-year-old K-pop star said.
