Buckingham Palace Royal Blunder: Named Kate Middleton, Prince William Baby Archie’s Parents
Buckingham Palace made a royal blunder involving Kate Middleton, Prince William and baby Sussex.
According to Nicole Stinson, a journalist for Express, after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced the name of their newborn son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, it was added to the official royal website. However, there was a noticeable error.
“Archie Harrison was born at 5.26am on Monday 6th May. He is the first child of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and is seventh in line to the throne,” the palace’s post read and this has since been corrected.
Prince William and Middleton are Archie’s uncle and aunt, respectively. His parents are the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Earlier this year, the name Archie made headlines after Prince George used it. Prince William and Middleton’s eldest child was with his grandmother Carole Middleton when a dog came across him playing with his sister, Princess Charlotte. At the time, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s children were in a stream near their family home in Berkshire.
A woman who refused to be named told The Sun that she was asked by the police to not to take photos of the royal children. She complied, but Prince George started stroking her dog, so just to be friendly, she engaged in a small talk with the 5-year-old royal by asking what his name was.
“To my astonishment he said ‘I’m called Archie’ with a big smile on his face. I don’t know why he calls himself Archie but kids often play with their names and I think it’s lovely,” the woman revealed.
According to the publication, the name Archie originally comes from Germany then Scotland. It’s a short form of Archibald which means “true, bold and brave.”
In related news, Buckingham Palace was warned after “categorically denying” that Markle and Prince Harry’s baby had not arrived yet. Days before Prince Harry confirmed Archie’s birth, there were rumors that Markle already gave birth. The palace responded by quashing the rumors.
According to Dickie Arbiter, Buckingham Palace would lose its credibility and the public’s trust if the people would find out that the baby had already arrived and they denied it.
Just recently, Prince Harry made a slip, saying that Archie has changed in two weeks. Royal fans are now confused if Prince Harry and Markle really welcomed their baby two weeks ago or just two to three days ago.
