Meghan Markle Praised For Post-Baby Body, Kate Middleton’s Criticized ‘Pristine’ Look Revisited
Meghan Markle’s post-baby body was praised.
On Wednesday, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex introduced baby Sussex to the world. They also revealed that they named their little boy Archie.
Aside from Prince Harry and Markle’s bundle of joy, many noticed the new mom.
Markle donned a white sleeveless trench dress belted above her belly for the event. It was her first public appearance after delivering her baby.
A lot of moms were impressed that the “Suits” star didn’t try to hide her still-expanded mid-section, which is completely normal post-birth.
“I hope this makes people more aware that it’s normal to still look pregnant after giving birth,” one netizen commented on Instagram.
Another netizen said that she loved how Markle showed off her postnatal baby bump. The same user added that “real world postpartum bodies are nothing to hide.”
Dr. Prudence Hall, an obstetrician and gynecologist, told “Today” that moms typically gain 30 to 40 pounds during pregnancy and only lost the weight of the baby and placenta and some blood after delivery. She feels that Markle only lost half of that amount so far.
The expert added that it takes six to eight weeks for the uterus to contract and up to a year for a woman’s body to return to its pre-pregnancy state.
While most moms praised Markle’s look for baby Archie’s public debut, her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, was slammed when she stepped out to introduce Prince Louis to the world.
Markle waited for two days before she faced the crowd. Middleton had a quick recovery in all of her pregnancies and was out of the hospital just hours after delivery. In her most recent baby debut, the Duchess of Cambridge looked pristine will all the makeup and heels.
A number of moms reacted negatively after seeing Middleton’s glamorous look. According to them, Prince William’s wife is sending a false message to new moms and it’s not inspiring because normally, new moms don’t look as good.
Markle was reportedly sorry for Middleton for having to pose for baby photos in high heels and dress just hours after giving birth. According to the former actress’ friends, she doesn’t want to put on a show and dress up with impeccable hair after her delivery.
