‘Bull’ Season 2 Spoilers: Episode 2 Synopsis, Trailer Released
After the Season 2 premiere last week, CBS’ “Bull” is just getting warmed up – both the show and the character.
There are more cases to win, more relationships to both mess up and fix and more Michael Weatherly to enjoy. All of that and more will continue when the drama’s second episode of the season, “Already Gone,” airs on Tuesday.
“Bull (Michael Weatherly) impulsively agrees to have Benny (Freddy Rodriguez) represent Adam Harris (Sam Vartholomeos), a young man charged with murder for helping his terminally ill girlfriend end her life, a decision which clashes with Benny’s religious beliefs,” the official synopsis for the episode reveals.
It seems like Bull can’t quite catch a break in respect to being in a tiff with those closest to him. Tuesday’s broadcast will have him offering up Benny as Adam’s attorney without even asking him or considering his religious beliefs in the matter, which Benny is, rightfully, not too happy with him about.
Though, from the looks of the promo, it seems it truly was a spur-of-the-moment decision for Bull who doesn’t even know Adam’s last name when he’s telling reporters that he’s going to be part of his defense team. He most likely saw a young man who needed his help beating the odds and Bull being Bull, decided to jump in and help.
Whatever the reasoning behind it, Benny still isn’t happy, which will cause tension between him and Bull as they work the case.
And just last week, in the Season 2 premiere, Bull and on-and-off-again love interest Diana (Jill Flint), are at odds when they go up against each other in court. That’s fairly normal for them, as they seem to do this quite often when she’s in town, but this time it was different. Diana asked Bull to be on her side, but he said he couldn’t because he was already committed to the other side. She was upset that he couldn’t do this for her and he was a bit peeved that she didn’t understand why he couldn’t. He even accused her of planting someone in the jury. A statement that she refuted and it eventually came to light that she had not planted anyone.
In the end, the two, of course, worked it out and were back to being their normal, complicated selves with each other, but only time will tell if that will be the case with Bull and Benny. The latter is very sensitive and is often on edge when Bull doesn’t take him or his thoughts or feelings into consideration, so this rift between them just might last the whole episode.
Nonetheless, the rift between Bull and Benny won’t stop them from doing what’s best for their client and working to figure out the best plan to get the charges dropped. It seems like Bull has a plan in that matter.
“Science is how we’re gonna get this jury to rule for our client,” he says in the promo.
This episode was written by Veronica West and Sarah Kucserka and directed by Peter Werner.
