Ever since media outlets carried the news of Prince Harry dating “Suits” actress Meghan Markle, there have been constant comparisons between the 35-year-old American and Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge.

With reports that the Harry has already introduced his rumored girlfriend to his father and the first-in-line to the British throne, Prince Charles, the couple seems to be going strong within the first few months of dating. There has also been speculation over a surprise engagement, which could catapult the young actress and entrepreneur to royalty.

Prince Harry is the fifth-in-line to the throne, behind Charles, elder brother Prince William, nephew Prince George and niece Princess Charlotte. Many say that his pick for partner would have to match up to the poise and stability that William’s wife Kate Middleton has been associated with. With Markle, the younger Prince could have just hit jackpot, despite being “a departure from Prince Harry’s usual type.”

After attending Immaculate Heart Convent — an all-girls independent Roman Catholic college in Los Angeles — Markle went on to graduate with a communications degree from Northwestern University in 2003. In the past, she has also expressed the desire to pursue a Master’s degree in International Diplomacy.

Markle is also hugely career-oriented. This is not limited to her stint in the blockbuster series “Suits.” Other than her acting prowess, Markle is also the founder of The Tig.com — a lifestyle website dedicated to food, travel, fashion and beauty. This year she was also honored by Cynopsis Media as one of its “Top Women in Digital. ”

Over and above all her other qualities, she shares Prince Harry’s passion for something that is very close to both their hearts — humanitarian work. A passionate charity campaigner and a United Nation’s Women’s Advocate, Markle has been involved in social work all across the world. She became the Global Ambassador for World Vision Canada earlier this year. In addition to this, she travelled to Rwanda for the Clean Water Campaign and worked with the United Nations Women.

There have been numerous apprehensions put forth by local media outlets regarding Markle’s age — she is three years older than Harry, who is 32 — and her divorcee status. However, in the face of such accomplishments, it is doubtful that the love-struck Prince Harry would care about any of these.
