Can Twerking Help Lose Weight? Iggy Azalea Lost 15 Pounds After She Twerked For 'Mo Bounce' Video
Iggy Azalea may have some tips for those who plan to lose weight in a week. The singer said in an interview with New Zealand radio station Nova 96.9 that she lost 15 pounds after twerking for her new music video "Mo Bounce."
The rehearsals for the 26-year-old forced her to work on her twerking skills that caused her to shed the weight, Azalea told hosts Fitzy and Wippa.
"It's a lot—I went on a meal plan before the video because I knew I would have to be dancing fairly skimply dressed," she said, according to E! Online. "I did a lot of rehearsals actually, and man I lost 15 pounds in a week dancing to that song!"

She added that though dancing has to "come naturally" she did take classes to perfect her twerking. "I do have someone who is very, very good at twerking, and she helped me. I never realized how flexible you have to be to do that stuff," she said, adding about her coach: "My teacher was like 'I really suggest you take yoga' and I didn't know you had to take yoga to be a twerker but apparently you do."
Azalea released her new song in March and after few days launched the music video. This is not the first time Azalea has showed off her body. The singer stripped down with Jennifer Lopez for their Booty video in 2014, the same year she rose to fame for releasing the global hit song "Fancy." Last November, Azalea thanked her plastic surgeon for giving her a "fabulous nose and breasts.”
Azalea is not the only celeb from whom fans can learn twerking, several other celebrities have mastered the art of twerking, including Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna and Beyonce.
