Carrie Ann Inaba Ends Engagement With Fiancée Jesse Sloan: No Wedding Dance For 'DWTS' Judge
"Dancing with the Stars" judge Carrie Ann Inaba won't be sharing a wedding dance with fiancée Jesse Sloan after the couple called off their engagement.
Inaba, who met Sloan, an accountant, through the online dating website eHarmony, became engaged to her 40-year-old fiancée in a very public moment in 2011 - Sloan popped the question during an episode of "Live! With Regis and Kelly" in March, Us Weekly reported.
The split between Inaba, 40, and Sloan was amicable, according to a rep for the "DWTS" judge.
"They decided early in the summer to break off their engagement and have remained friends," the rep told Us Weekly.
Soon after the proposal, Inaba reportedly could not stop talking about her dream wedding with Sloan, according to People magazine. The plans included a seaside wedding where guests would have been encouraged to frolic on the sand sans shoes.
"We want everybody to get their feet wet in the water after we say our vows," the "DWTS" judge told People at the time.
Inaba went the online route when she found Sloan.
"I was dating all these younger guys. I was like, 'Maybe I need to change it up a little,'" Inaba, who at 44 is four years younger than Sloan, told Access Hollywood Live.
Inaba wanted to keep her fame from "DWTS" a secret to admirers on eHarmony, so the brunette beauty didn't post her photo on the online dating site.
"I didn't put up a picture, I didn't put anything about who I was," Inaba said. ""I was like, 'You need to be sexy. I need to be attracted to you.' I really put exactly what I wanted. 'I love cats!'"
While Inaba's love with Sloan ended, she'll still be a "DWTS" staple, where she'll be back for the 15th season of the celebrity ballroom dancing show, People reported.
