Catherine Zeta-Jones: Treated for Bipolar Disorder
People.com is reporting that actress Catherine Zeta-Jones was treated for Bipolar Disorder.
Her rep confirmed that Zeta-Jones got help for mental health issues.
After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her bipolar II disorder. She's feeling great and looking forward to start work this week on her two upcoming films, her rep said in a statement.
Zeta-Jones spent a good part of last year taking care of her husband Michael Douglass who was getting treatment for his cancer. Douglass, who a few months ago announced he was cancer free, was undergoing chemotherapy and radiation for a tumor on his tongue.
According to the report from People.com the 41-year-old actress spent about five days in the unidentified facility.
There's no question it's been a stressful year, a source told People.com. Catherine has had to deal with Michael's illness and that's been hard. She went in for a few days because she's about to start working, and wanted to make sure she's in top form, which she is.
