‘The Challenge Total Madness’ Spoilers: Episode 1 Sneak Peek Shows Opening Of Season 35 Premiere

Season 35 of MTV’s “The Challenge” premieres Wednesday night. The 90-minute episode will kick off “Total Madness,” but fans of the reality-TV series don’t have to wait to watch a small portion of the show.

A sneak peek of what’s to come on “The Challenge: Total Madness” has been released. The video clips share the first five minutes of the season premiere, as well as the cast’s discovery of their new home.

In the show’s opening scene, the contestants are flown to an outdoor location and walk to what appears to be their first challenge. Season 34 winner Jordan Wiseley and “Challenge” legends Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio and Wes Bergmann are among the cast members that speak about what could be in store on “Total Madness.”

“I look to my side and it just happens to be one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen and that is Wes Bergmann,” Bananas says within the first three minutes of the premiere. “Even though Wes and I have done multiple seasons together, we’ve always been at each other’s throats and never worked together. And everybody just knows if Wes and I are on the same season, it’s gonna be a battle royale from Day 1.”

When the cast of 28 contestants—seven rookies and 21 veterans—arrives at the site of their first competition, host T.J. Lavin warns that this will be the most dangerous season in the show’s history. Lavin explains that $1 million is at stake, and even though sometimes the contestants will be paired up or compete as part of a team, this is an individual “Challenge.”

A second clip shows the cast walking into their home for “Total Madness.” Instead of living in a large mansion, which is usually the case, this season’s “Challenge” competitors will reside in what’s described as an underground bunker.

“I’m in this dungeon-type thing,” says Mattie Lynn Breaux, who reached the “War of the Worlds” Final on her only “Challenge” season. “Where’s the hot tub? Where’s the mimosas? Where the heck is the sun?”

After walking throughout their new residence, the cast ultimately discovers a giant room featuring a gym, pool and dining area.

“The Challenge: Total Madness” episode 1 airs Wednesday, April 1, at 8 p.m. EDT on MTV.
