Chris Brown Arrested In D.C For Felony Assault: Gay Slurs And Punches Thrown
The Washington, D.C Metropolitan Police Department has confirmed that Chris Brown was arrested this morning and charged with felony assault, CBS News reports. D.C. police spokesperson told CBS that the 24-year-old pop star got into a physical altercation with an adult male near the W Hotel located on K and 15th street around 4:25 a.m EDT. The other male involved was 35-year-old Chris Hollosy, who was also arrested on the same charges.
However, according to Perez Hilton, Hollosy apparently had been treated at a D.C. hospital prior to being brought in for the charges. This isn’t Brown’s first run in with the law. Since 2009, when he was arrested for assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna, he has had multiple issues involving violence and assault. Since Brown is still on probation for his domestic-violence incident with Rihanna, if this event ends up being in violation of his probation, Brown could be looking at up to four years in prison.
According to TMZ, law-enforcement sources confirm a woman approached Brown in front of the W Hotel and asked to take a picture with him. As the picture was being taken, two men, one of them Hollosy, joined in to pose for the picture. Allegedly Chris Brown then said, “I’m not into gay s**t, I’m into boxing,” and threw a punch at the victim.
At the time of the incident, Brown was with his bodyguard, who was also arrested. TMZ confirms that law-enforcement sources at the scene said Brown did not appear to under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
