Embattled singer Chris Brown has made a fortune from his music career and business ventures, and with his massive net worth comes expensive taste. The controversial R&B musician has splurged millions on a number of luxury cars over the years.
Since releasing his debut album at 16 in 2005, the R&B artist has become one of the world's best-selling artists, with over 100 million albums and singles sold around the globe. As of 2020, Brown has an estimated net worth of $50 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Brown’s income has allowed him to indulge in an expensive hobby: collecting luxury cars. He owns an array of pricey vehicles, including a 2016 Porsche 911 Turbo S that features a Stinger GTR body kit from the aftermarket tuning company TopCar. While he did not reveal how much he paid for the car in total, The News Wheel estimated that it might have cost Brown more than $220,000.
Brown also owns a Dodge Viper, classic Chevy Impala, Rezvani “Beast” supercar and bulletproof SUV Rezvani Tank, the latter of which is believed to have cost the singer more than $200,000, HotCars.com
But the two most expensive vehicles in Brown’s collection are his $500,000 Lamborghini Aventador SV and Bugatti Veyron, which is estimated to have cost him $2.3 million.
The musician previously parked his cars in the West Hollywood condo that he bought in 2011, according to Celebrity Net Worth. But after only a couple of years of living in the residence, he sold it for $1.6 million, comparable to the price he paid for it which was $1.55 million.
Since 2014, Brown has been living in a four-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot hilltop mansion in Tarzana, California, which he bought for $4.35 million.
Brown found success immediately after making his debut in the music scene, soaring to the top of the Billboard charts with his first single "Run It!" in 2005. He has since released multiple hit singles and albums. Three of the albums, "F.A.M.E." (2011), "Fortune" (2012) and "Indigo" (2019), topped the Billboard 200.
Brown's latest album "Indigo" sold 108,000 units in the first week of its release, Billboard reported.
Outside of his music career, Brown has had many run-ins with the law. He was arrested in 2009 for physically abusing ex-girlfriend Rihanna and was sentenced to serve five years probation and 1,400 hours of community service after pleading guilty to felony assault.
Brown's sentence was increased by 1,000 hours in 2013, USA Today reported. His probation formally ended in March 2015.
In 2019, Brown was once more arrested after a woman alleged that he and two other men raped her at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Paris but was freed to leave France without charge pending further investigation. At the time, the artist’s attorney denied the allegations and said Brown plans to file a defamation lawsuit against the accuser, CNN reported in January 2019.
On Friday, the Grammy-winning artist once again made headlines after he was accused of beating a woman during an argument inside a Los Angeles home, NBC News, citing a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department.
The incident is being investigated as a battery. No injuries were reported, and it was unclear if Brown will face any charges.
