Chris Brown Reportedly Angry At Hilary Duff For Karrueche Tran Comments, Is Refusing To Engage In ‘Public War’

Actress Hilary Duff’s comments about singer Chris Brown’s relationship with his on-again, off-again flame Karrueche Tran are not sitting too well with him. Despite the actress comparing the duo’s rocky relationship to her teenage romance with Aaron Carter, however, the “Loyal” performer is reportedly refusing to engage in a “public war” with Duff.

In the April 2015 issue of Cosmopolitan, Duff, 27, discussed the turbulent relationship between Brown and Tran, and their affinity in communicating their issues via social media, using it as an example of what not to do. Duff shared the dig while speaking out about childhood love Carter, also 27, and his recent attempts to win her back via Twitter.

“Him reaching out through social media? It’s ridiculous! But then people do it all the time,” Duff said. “Like Chris Brown and Karrueche? Come on, guys. Keep it between text messages.”

Although Brown, 25, has yet to publicly speak about Duff’s interview, HollywoodLife.com reported the Grammy Award winner is privately fuming. “He is not going to get in a public war with Hilary, but he thinks she shouldn’t bring him up in any future comments,” an insider said. “He doesn’t know her and think it’s wack to bring him up in her drama.”

While Brown is reportedly holding his tongue regarding Duff’s diss, an insider claimed the former “Lizzie McGuire” star wouldn’t have gotten off so easily a few years ago. “He would have flashed on [Hilary]. But, now, he doesn’t even sweat the small stuff,” the source said. “Chris is used to people judging him for whatever reason and holding up a microscope to his life.”

As for Tran, 26, she is also rumored to be secretly upset with Duff. One insider told HollywoodLife.com that Duff should focus more on her own relationships, specifically alluding to her failed marriage with Mike Comrie, as opposed to commenting on other people’s lives. “Kae has a man, and she’s very happy and in love,” the source said. “This girl should worry about getting one and keeping him.”

Word of Brown’s alleged feud with Duff came on the heels of a recent bombshell report that he fathered a daughter with a former model named Nia, 31. TMZ was the first to claim Brown allegedly fathered the child, who is now 9 months old.

While Brown has not responded to the paternity claims -- some fans are certain the entire story is a hoax -- Tran released a statement about the rumors on Twitter. “Listen. One can only take so much,” Tran tweeted Wednesday. “The best of luck to Chris and his family. No baby drama for me.”
