Chris Evans' Piano Video Fuels Selena Gomez Dating Rumors On TikTok; Netizens React

Chris Evans' latest social media post has fueled speculation among fans that he is dating Selena Gomez.

The "Avengers" star, 40, was first linked to the "Only Murders in the Building" actress, 29, earlier this month after some fans claimed they'd been spotted leaving the same studio. But while those claims appeared to have been debunked, some TikTok users suggested that a video Evans uploaded on Instagram Story Tuesday may be proof that the two are hanging out.

The video, which showed Evans playing "Purple Rain" on the piano, was reposted to TikTok by a fan with the caption, "Is that Selena?!"

In the clip, the TikTok user zoomed in on a possible reflection on the piano that the fan speculated may have been of the person filming Evans.

"Whose [sic] the brunette filming [at the] bottom right corner, Chris?" the user wrote.

Some TikTok users wrote in the comments section that they "never noticed" that there might be someone else with Evans in the clip, while others hoped that the claims were true.

"Wait, can this be true please?" one person commented. "Wow, I want them to be together," another wrote

Others were skeptical, with one pointing out that Gomez has had "short hair for a while now," so her bob would be reflected if it were the singer.

"It's 110% the lid that covers the keys. It's a black gloss lid. You can see the wood end of it, and it's showing a slight reflection," another explained.

Rumors that Evans and Gomez were dating started swirling earlier this month when fans claimed on Twitter that the two stars were spotted leaving the same studio in Los Angeles on Oct. 1 and were seen at the same restaurant in the city days after the first "sighting." Some also pointed out that Evans had started following Gomez on Instagram.

While the fans backed up their claims with snaps, Elle later pointed out that the paparazzi photos of Gomez and Evans that fans claimed were taken recently were actually old photos taken of them on completely different dates and places.

Although they have yet to address the rumors, Gomez previously revealed that she was interested in the "Knives Out" star.

"I kind of have a crush on Chris Evans. Isn't he cute? He's very cute," Gomez said on "Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen" in 2015, noting that it was the “first time" she admitted to the crush. "Oh man, he's either going to hate me or love me."

Back in June, Gomez, who previously dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, told Vogue Australia that she believes "most of my experiences in relationships have been cursed."

"I've been way too young to be exposed to certain things when I was in relationships. I guess I needed to find what was that word for me, because I felt so less than in past relationships, and never really felt equal," she explained.

At the time, an insider told Entertainment Tonight that Gomez was "in no rush" to settle down and that she's currently focusing on her health, career and philanthropy work.
