Chris Pratt Attends 2017 Teen Choice Awards After Split From Anna Faris
Chris Pratt may be dealing with some personal issues, but this did not stop him from making an appearance at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards for his young fans.
On Sunday, Pratt was among the many stars who graced the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, where he received the choice sci-fi movie actor award for his role in “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.” This was Pratt’s first public appearance following his announcement that he and Anna Faris were separating after eight years of marriage, Entertainment Tonight reported.
“Wow thank you. I love you too, thank you,” Pratt said while accepting his surfboard. “Many years ago, when I came to Los Angeles, I came from Hawaii and I had this blonde hair and tan, and I met an agent, because I really wanted to be an actor ... and he said ‘Wow bro, you must surf,’ and I said, ‘Uh, yeah.’ And that was the first of many lies that I told to get to where I am today.”
Jokes aside, Pratt also thanked a special someone for his new achievement. “I would not be here with the ease and grace I have in my heart without my lord and savior, Jesus Christ,” he said (via E! News). According to the publication, Pratt and his 4-year-old son, Jack, were spotted exiting their car and entering a church earlier that day, presumably to attend mass.
Aside from his acting award at the 2017 TCAs, Pratt and his “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” co-star Zoe Saldana were also nominated for choice movie ship. However, the pair lost the award to Emma Watson and Dan Stevens from “Beauty and the Beast.” However, the film did not go home empty-handed as “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” nabbed choice sci-fi movie. ET noted that Pratt’s last appearance at the Teen Choice Awards was 13 years ago when he and his “Everwood” co-star Gregory Smith were nominated.
In related news, many are still heartbroken after Pratt and Faris decided to call it quits last week. Fortunately, “Frozen” star Kristen Bell shared some words of wisdom about breakups for the ex-couple’s fans to cheer them up.
“I think there’s a little bit of lack of acknowledgment about really loving something that was. If there are two people that decide not to be together, it shouldn’t really be a heartbreak for everyone,” Bell told E! News. “You should say, ‘Oh, they tried. But that doesn’t discount the lovely years they had together.’ If I ever get divorced, I’m still going to be like, ‘Wow, I loved being married to that man.’”
