Chrishell Stause broke her silence and confirmed her split from her boss Jason Oppenheim.
Stause, 40, and Oppenheim, 44, dated for five months before they called it quits. However, the exes made it known that they were still friends following their split.
Stause took to Instagram Tuesday and released a lengthy statement to address the breakup. According to her, she wants to be open and honest about her relationships, even if it is "scary and terrifying."
"I am choosing to see it as a success no matter what label is attached to it publicly," she wrote. "Jason was and is my best friend, and other than our ideas for family ultimately not being aligned, the amount of respect and love we have for each other will not change going forward."
She continued, "Men have the luxury of time that women don't and that's just the way it goes. All of that being said, navigating the public terrain is difficult and I am just trying my best."
Stause added that she didn't want to speak about the personal things she was going through, but she understood that because she's a TV personality, many want to be updated with her whereabouts and dating status. She also realized that "it's easier to just live transparently because we only get one chance at this life."
Oppenheim confirmed that the split was due to their "different wants regarding a family." It seems that Stause wants to settle down and Oppenheim is not yet ready for it. Nevertheless, she remained thankful to him for the "incredible relationship" they had.
"I very much hope to one day have a family and decisions I make at this point are with that goal in mind. Thank you for the kindness and support to those that understand," Stause wrote. "Thank you, Jason for the most incredible relationship and for consistently being honest with me even when it hurts."
Meanwhile, he gushed over his now ex, saying Stause was "the most amazing girlfriend I've ever had." He also said that what they had was "the happiest and most fulfilling relationship of my life."
Stause's "Selling Sunset" co-stars were surprised by their separation. The former couple never hinted that their relationship was on the rocks.
"It’s definitely a surprise to some of their close friends," an unnamed source told Us Weekly. "They aren’t going around telling everyone about their breakup. Some cast just found out about it today."
