‘Christmas Stars’ Lifetime Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
A potential life in the spotlight could bring either Christmas joy or Christmas heartbreak in the newest Lifetime holiday movie, “Christmas Stars,” which sees Erica Durance and J.T. Hodges take on starring roles.
The film will be a treat for fans since it pairs two actors together who are still relatively new to the world of holiday movies. Durance, who may be best known for her role as Lois Lane in both “Batwoman” and “Smallville” or Alura Zor-El in “Supergirl,” is starring in her first Lifetime holiday film and second holiday flick overall, with only UPtv’s “The Christmas Chalet” from this year on her resume thus far. As for Hodges, he has kept a low profile as an actor overall, with this film only listed as his third overall in his career. He previously starred in Hallmark’s 2013 film, “Finding Christmas.”
So what might happen when these two novices take on their first big project together for Lifetime? Let’s find out.
“When aspiring R&B artist Layla (Durance) crosses paths with amateur songwriter Spence (Hodges), she thinks she’s found her shot at finally getting a record deal,” a synopsis for the film states.
However, while she thinks it may finally be her big break, the same business she is trying to break into may have different plans in mind, Also at risk could be the relationship she and Spence are forming at the same time—because everything they’ve worked toward is at risk of falling apart.
“But as the holidays approach, the fast-paced, high stakes music business threatens to change their sound and relationship—especially when the label executives begin to see Spence as the real star,” the synopsis continues.
Will Layla get her Christmas wish of finally getting her big break and also find love? Or will she wind up losing not only her dreams and career aspirations but the perfect man for her as well?
“Christmas Stars” airs Friday at 8 p.m. EST on Lifetime.
