CMA Music Festival 2017: When And Where To Watch Online, On TV
Country’s night to rock will be returning to the small screen with music from some of the most talked about artists who performed at the 2017 CMA Music Festival. The four day event, which took place in Nashville, Tennessee, from June 8 to June 11, will air on television over the course of three hours, highlighting the most popular performances that took place during the festival’s 46th year.
Hosted by singers Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini, the night of music will air on Wednesday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC. For music lovers who won’t have access to a television when the special airs, there are other ways to watch the program.
The show can be viewed on an ABC live stream and the Watch ABC Go app ,but a cable or satellite provider will be required for both options.
While CMA Fest 2017 will mark Ballerini’s first time hosting the event, Rhett will be returning for another year. This time around the “Die a Happy Man” singer admitted that he is a bit more confident about his hosting abilities.
“Last year was my first time hosting anything, so I think anytime you do anything for the first time, you’re always going to have some hiccups every now and then,” Rhett told The Boot.
“But I feel like this year, I’ve been more of a — this sounds dumb — but a smoother reader, [with] more energy, [and] starting to learn how to host something. And Kelsea has done some hosting gigs as well too, so I feel like us together made for a really good combination,” he said.
Ballerini was just as excited to land the hosting gig. “I’ve grown up going to CMA Fest as a fan, and last year, getting to perform on the big stage, was one of the most epic memories I’ll ever have,” she stated during an appearance on “Good Morning America.”
“And now, being able to host with my current tour mate Thomas Rhett is just going to be another crazy thing off the bucket list. I can’t wait to test out my hosting skills and perform again this year,” Ballerini said.
Country music lovers from all across America and at least 18 international countries came pouring into downtown Nashville for the actual festival to hear music from over 350 artists and more than 1,100 musicians.
Viewers who tune into the event will be treated to 28 performances by some of Country music’s most established artists and rising stars. Blake Shelton, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley, Eric Church, Garth Brooks, Keith Urban, Lady Antebellum and Miranda Lambert are among the many performers set to grace the small screen for the ABC special.
Fans hoping to catch the live show next year are in luck, as tickets for the 2018 CMA Music Festival are already on sale. The tickets range from $221 to $400, and will provide entry into the festival which will run from June 7, 2018 until June 10, 2018.
