Craig Strickland's Body Found After More Than A Week Missing

Musician Craig Strickland was found dead Monday. The Kay County Sheriff’s Department in Oklahoma confirmed that a search party discovered the country singer’s body, Ponca City News reported.
Strickland, 29, went on a duck hunting trip with his friend Chase Morland during a winter storm. “In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma,” Morland tweeted before the trip.
The two had been missing since Dec. 27, and Morland’s body was found on Dec. 28. Their boat had capsized, Strickland’s wife, Helen Strickland, confirmed on Twitter.
No news has been released about Strickland’s cause of death. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division said they found the singer in an area called Bear Creek Cove, TMZ reported.
Officials had been searching for Strickland’s body for over a week. Helen Strickland had been keeping people updated via Twitter every day. On Sunday, she said officers were searching a cove that “looked promising.” Monday afternoon, she wrote that her husband had been found dead.
#CraigStrickland was found today. He is safe with his Father in Heaven. Thank you Lord for leading us to him today. I will praise you, Amen.
