Crystal Hefner Reveals She 'Removed Everything Fake' From Her Body, Deleted Old Instagram Photos
In a heartfelt post, Hugh Hefner's widow Crystal has revealed how her social media persona has shifted from adult content to "real" content over the years, while disclosing she has removed everything "fake" from her body.
The 35-year-old model shared a black and white photo of herself on Instagram on Monday, along with a graph of her followers in the last couple of years.
"After the last handful of years staying true to myself on social media, I feel that all the people here with me at this point actually care and are invested in my life in a positive way and for that I thank you," she captioned the post.
The model admitted over the past five years, she has gradually shifted her account from "not always safe for work posts to my REAL safe for work life," adding, "I was living for other people before, to make others happy, suffering internally in the process."
Crystal, who is a former Playboy model, mentioned she grew her social media followers during her Playboy years.
The model noted "sex sells" as certain photos that flaunted her body were easier to get more followers, and she was not sure if that kind of dressing made her feel "empowered."
"Certain photos grow followings fast," she explained. "In short, sex sells. I don’t know whether I felt empowered by dressing scantily clad, showing cleavage, etc …or if I just felt it was expected of me or what."
"But now I can confidently and 100% proudly say, modesty is what empowers me these days, and because it feels so much better internally, it will probably be this way for the rest of my life," she added.
She further shared everything fake from her body has been removed. Moreover, she also deleted all her old photos from Instagram, adding, "I am more authentic, vulnerable and feel that I belong more to myself. I am mine."
"The Girls Next Door" star also wrote about her fear of losing followers as she saw thousands of users unfollowed her. "I was watching the girls that had similar pages keep posting the same scantily clad stuff and growing exponentially while I tanked hard."
However, after the transition, the model said how her women followers are "giving the men followers a run for their money," adding, "Now I truly feel I have an army of supporters that care and see an actual soul behind the lens. For that I thank you."
In conclusion, she revealed her mission was to stay true to herself and encourage others to do the same.
On the work front, Crystal was recently featured in a movie, "Holiday Twist," which was released in November 2021.
