Dana Brooke Says Boyfriend Dallas McCarver Left Her A 'Sign' After Death

WWE star Dana Brooke took to Instagram Thursday to mourn her boyfriend, star bodybuilder Dallas McCarver, saying he left her a sign.

McCarver died Tuesday after apparently choking on food. He was 26 years old. A coroner did not immediately determine the cause of death.

Brooke posted a picture from her Snapchat account that showed a note she wrote McCarver. It also featured a card of two children holding hands by the beach.

“One thing I have always done is leave Dallas notes and cards around the house when I would be gone so he could find. Yesterday morning I took the photo on the left asking him and talking to him out loud .. hey ‘Kingcakes’ I hope ur here with me and be by my side .. could you please give me a sign your around and hear me .. maybe move the paper or make the card fall.. ?? I go to shower last night and I look And as you can see the yellow sheet of paper is hidden behind the card,” she wrote. “I giggled and said thank you.. one of the last things he texted me was ‘I don't wanna FaceTime so others can hear or see our conservations’ — I get it babe — I will keep our life between us which only we know how much it mattered to us!”

Within hours the post was liked thousands of times by her 541,000 followers. Dozens of fans left their condolences in the comment section.

Brooke, 28, took to Instagram the day McCarver died to grieve for her boyfriend. “He had a way with making people laugh!! Dallas was an exceptional body builder, but I didn't see him for that... I saw him for HIM AND HIS HEART!! He is the best individual I have ever met — my ying to my yang... finished my sentences and knew what I was thinking before I'd say it!!” she wrote on Instagram Tuesday.

McCarver was found unconscious by a friend who tried to resuscitate him. “My friend’s passed out, he’s dead. I can’t get him back,” the friend says in the 911 call. “He’s home. He’s on the ground. He passed out and I can’t get him back.” The friend was unable to bring McCarver back. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The bodybuilder reportedly had plans to join the WWE with Brooke. “We had it all figured out — new WWE superstar ‘Big country’ and ‘Country Strong’ mixed tag team!!!” she wrote Tuesday. “You were my life. You are my life. I still smell [you] and feel [your] presence, NEVER LEAVE MY SIDE. Like I have always asked; and u said NO NEVER Mrs. McCarver — I had your back and I knew you had mine!! You’re our angel.”

McCarver became involved with competitive bodybuilding when he was 21 years old. He made a name for himself when he started to win competitions. He placed No. 8 in the Mr. Olympia competition last year.
