‘Dancing With The Stars’ 2017: How The Season 24 Pairs Are Preparing For Week 6
The competition is winding down on “Dancing With the Stars,” meaning one pair is closer than ever to winning the mirror ball trophy. As more and more Season 24 duos are eliminated, it gets harder to predict who will be the last one left standing.
Those still vying for the No. 1 spot spent the weekend polishing their routines. In Week 6 of “DWTS,” which airs Monday, the cast will be split into two teams to perform a group routine, in addition to their partner performances. We’re not sure what the eight remaining Season 24 duos have up their sequin-covered sleeves, but we’re excited.
Here’s how they prepared for Week 6 on “DWTS”:
Team Golden Giggles
Simone Biles has been partnered with Heather Morris, Nancy Kerrigan and Normani Kordei, led by the male “DWTS” coaches, to perform a girl group routine. The Olympic gymnast shared some photos from their practice over the weekend and while it’s not clear what they’re going to bring to the ballroom Monday night, one thing’s for sure — it’s going to be fun. Behind the scenes pictures show Simone and her teammates laughing and smiling while posing for group stills in their practice space.
Sasha Farber, who’ll be coaching Simone and the rest of the still competing female celebrities in their group performance, shared a photo from his camera blocking session with Simone. The photo captures a candid moment between the perfect partners as they were going over performance notes.
Team Valmani
Val Chmerkovskiy and Normani put in serious studio time over the weekend. The pair spent their days working on their “salsa tricks,” according to a post on Instagram from the “DWTS” pro. Whatever they’re cooking up, we can’t wait to check it out.
Val also shared some behind the scenes photos from a different portion of the “DWTS” set. In the photos he can be seen standing in front of a green screen. He gave no indication of what he was doing in the photos.
Team Shad Squad
Rashad Jennings and Emma Slater were also busy ahead of Week 6. The pair spent a little down time together, goofing off and worked hard on their moves. When the former New York Giants player wasn’t working with Emma or hanging out with famous friend Zac Efron, he was in the studio with the male cast of “DWTS” getting their boy band act together.
As for their partner routine, Rashad and Emma are working on a Tango for Monday’s show. The “DWTS” pro shared a photo from their studio sessions, assuring fans it was going well. She praised the NFL pro’s footwork, revealing that he was able to lead her in the steps.
Team Maksimum Heat
Maksim Chmerkovskiy is coming back in a major way in Week 6 of “DWTS.” The injured pro shared a behind-the-scenes photo to confirm his return. Maks can be seen posing alongside Heather in a pair of unbuckled overalls with no shirt on.
Maks also teased the girl group performance, telling Instagram followers they “don’t want to miss” it. Based on his post it seems the ladies will be dancing to “Every Woman” by WHO and, if we’re lucky, “No Scrubs” by TLC. The “DWTS” pro promised a “strong, powerful, accomplished, inspirational” performance.
As for Team Denim and Diamonds (Sharna Burgess and Bonner Bolton), Team Lady and the Gramp (Lindsay Arnold and David Ross), Team Blades of Glory (Arten Chigvintsev and Nancy Kerrigan) and Team Baby Got Bach (Peta Murgatroyd and Nick Viall), it seems they’ve chosen to keep fans in the dark. Neither member of the aforementioned teams shared any photo updates about the show over the weekend.
Tune in to “DWTS” Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.
