‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Emma Slater Shares New Engagement Celebration Photo With Sasha Farber

“Dancing With the Stars” pros Emma Slater is on cloud nine after getting engaged to Sasha Farber.

On Thursday, Oct. 6, the 27-year-old dancer shared a new photo showing how she and Farber celebrated their engagement with their loved ones. In the Instagram pic, the couple share a sweet kiss, while Farber’s family toast the happy occasion. “Wine and kisses with @sashafarber1's family,” she captioned the snapshot.

Slater and Farber got engaged on the Tuesday, Oct. 4 live results show of “Dancing With the Stars” Season 23. Slater and her celebrity partner, former Texas governor Rick Perry, had already been sent home the previous week. However, she came back to perform a contemporary dance number with Farber. It turned out that the routine was set up to give Farber to opportunity to pop the big question on live television. “I've been meaning to do this for such a long time," he told Slater, as he got down on one knee. “I love you so, so much.”

After the live results show, Farber admitted to Entertainment Tonight that he had been nervous that he wouldn’t be able to pull it off. “I was dying, I'm not gonna lie. Usually I'm like, running around and having fun backstage but I was just in the corner [before proposing],” he said. “I touched my hands and they were sweating, and I was like, ‘Oh my god, I've still got to do this dance. And then I've got this in my pocket, what if it falls out?’ I didn't know what to expect.”

His fiancée had found his behavior strange, but she didn’t realize that he was going to propose until the last second. “As soon as [our dance] was over, I felt his energy get even worse, like even more nervous than when we danced, and I thought that was really strange,” she recalled. “I turned to Sasha and he turned to me, and I was like, ‘Ahh!’ He didn't even say one word and I think I started to hyperventilate and do all that really like, ugly crying stuff, which I'm sure I'm going to regret, but it was the best day of my life!”

Slater and Farber’s pal and fellow “Dancing With the Stars” pro Derek Hough was among the first ones to extend his congratulations to the newly engaged couple. He recently shared an Instagram clip of him fist-pumping in joy, along with the caption: “SHE SAID YES!!!! Sooooo freaking happy for @emmaslaterdanceand @sashafarber1. Love you two so much. My only regret is wearing this ridiculous costume for your moment #fistpump #engagement #joy #love.”
