‘Dancing With The Stars’ Pro Tony Dovolani Talks Possibility Of Becoming A Judge After 19 Seasons
It looks like Tony Dovolani may be ready for a change. The “Dancing With the Stars” pro recently revealed he has a definite interest in becoming a judge on the show.
According to E! News Dovolani “would love to judge.” While hanging out backstage at “Sway: A Dance Trilogy” the 41-year-old expressed to the network that he feels he’s more than qualified for the position, saying he would absolutely “bring something to the table.” He added that he would “graciously and happily” accept any offer “DWTS” made him before jokingly taking a dig at Julianne Hough.
“Also, I don’t have any siblings out there so therefore I’d be a lot more fair than anybody else,” he said.
Hough was a pro on the show before making the jump from the stage to the judges table. She was selected to join the esteemed panel in Season 17. Hough was joined by Len Goodman, Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli. Julianne’s brother, Derek Hough, is also a dancer on the show.
Dovolani has been with the competition since Season 2, making him the longest running pro in “DWTS” history. During that time he and his various celebrity partners have made it to the finals on three separate occasions. He previously attributed a majority of his success to his wife, Lina Dovolani. In an interview with People he said that without her support, he wouldn't be able to do what he does.
"She is the most amazing person I have ever met in my life. She takes care of the kids. She takes care of the house. She makes sure that I am successful. If I didn't have her, I don't think I would be where I am today," he says. "Marrying her is probably one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life."
