‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 23 Finale: Jana Kramer Says Gleb Savchenko Is Sick; Will He Miss The Finals? [PHOTO]
Jana Kramer still has a shot at winning the Season 23 mirror ball trophy on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars,” but she may be forced to compete in the finals with someone other than her partner Gleb Savchenko. As it turns out, Gleb is really sick and it’s not clear if the professional dancer will be well enough to perform on Monday and Tuesday.
Jana took to Instagram Saturday to reveal that her partner is sick with the flu. Posting a photo of her standing beside Gleb as he wears a medical mask, she wrote: “One of us has the flu… well maybe two of us. @glebsavchenkoofficial. Excuse me while I go vitamin C overdose.”
A few hours later, Jana posted a picture of her standing next to “Dancing With the Stars” troupe member Alan Bersten. Alan had to temporarily fill in as Jana’s partner a few weeks ago when Gleb injured his knee. “I’m being quarantined with @alanbersten. Please feel better @glebsavchenkoofficial #flu,” she wrote.
Sources revealed to People that Gleb has been rescheduling rehearsals this weekend and was told he needs to “rest up” so he can hopefully perform on Monday’s show. The outlet reported that the ballroom dancer really wants to dance with Jana in the finals, but it all depends on how he’s feeling the day of the show.
Jana and Gleb have dealt with their share of obstacles this season on “Dancing With the Stars.” In Week 2, the former “One Tree Hill” actress told fans in an Instagram post that she had suffered an injury but was going to push through it so she could perform. “For those of you asking. I strained my rib muscles but I’m a tough cookie and I’m gonna fight through it,” she wrote at the time. “Thanks for the love!!!”
On Monday’s show, the remaining contestants — Jana and her partner, Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy, Calvin Johnson and Lindsay Arnold as well as James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess — will perform two routines. Whichever couples make it to Tuesday’s finale will have 24 hours to learn a new dance before finding out which pair will be crowned the Season 23 champions.
“Dancing With the Stars” Season 23 airs Monday and Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
