‘Dancing With The Stars’ Season 23: Who Will Be Sent Home During Week 6 Eliminations?
We’re just five weeks into Season 23 of “Dancing With the Stars” and the cast is dwindling fast. Four couples have been sent home so far with another on their way out on Oct. 17.
The “DWTS” couples took the stage on Monday to perform dances dedicated to memorable moments in their life. Each team tapped into something deeply emotional for them, pulling out some of the best routines viewers have seen thus far. James Hinchcliffe and Sharna Burgess; Terra Jolé and Sasha Farber; and Marilu Henner and Derek Hough came out on top with scores of 29 out of 30, 28 out of 30 and 27 out of 30 respectively. The others scored lower, but were not far behind — the lowest score of the night, 24 out of 30, was awarded to four of the nine remaining pairs.
The judges appeared impressed with each and every couple that took the ballroom floor during week five, making it that much harder to speculate which pair will be the next to get the ax. Here are our best guesses about which “DWTS” duo will be eliminated in week 6:
Ryan Lochte and Cheryl Burke:
Despite his best efforts, the 12-time Olympian has consistently debuted weak performances. His footwork needs improvement, he struggles with rhythm and that has been reflected in the judges scoring. While there’s a chance he’ll be saved by viewer votes in week 6, it seems safe to say Ryan, 33, and Cheryl may be packing their things and heading for home before long. The pair were one of four couples to score 24 out of 30 in week 5.
Amber Rose and Maksim Chmerkovskiy:
For five weeks Amber Rose has been giving “DWTS” her all and can’t seem to catch a break. During Monday’s show viewers finally saw her crack during practice with Maks, which may be a sign that the pressure to do well and continuously low scores may be getting to her head. While Amber, 32, definitely has what it takes to pull out a stellar performance, she has yet to truly wow judges and viewers. The duo performed their best dance yet on Monday, which Amber dedicated to her son, and were awarded a 24 out of 30 for their effort. The model admitted that she was feeling under the weather during the performance, but will that resonate with voters? Only time will tell.
Maureen McCormick and Artem Chigvintsev:
Since day one the former “Brady Bunch” star has been one of the most dedicated stars to appear in the “DWTS” ballroom. She brings her A-game to practices and wears her heart on her sleeve during performances. Monday’s dance was no different, as she and Artem paid tribute to the year she met her husband, but technical errors clouded the dance. They were given a low score of 24 out of 30 by the judges and will likely be in jeopardy during the Oct. 17 show.
Calvin Johnson Jr. and partner Lindsay Arnold were the fourth couple to receive a score of 24 out of 30 during Monday’s show, but the Detroit Lions player has consistently brought fun and dedication to the dance floor and the judges seem to have taken notice of that. As such, we believe this pair will continue to perform on Season 23 of “DWTS.” It also seems safe to say that Laurie Hernandez and Val Chmerkovskiy and Jana Kramer and Gleb Savchenko will be spared during the upcoming elimination.
