Lani (Sal Stowers) is stunned when she comes face-to-face with someone from Salem on the Dec. 6, 2019 episode of “Days of Our Lives.” XJ Johnson/JPI Studios for NBC

She headed to Italy to join a convent when staying in Salem after her aborted wedding became too difficult to bear. Now, though she’s been preparing to take her vows and leave that life behind for good alongside Kristen DiMera, Lani will be left questioning her choice when someone else unexpected turns up on the Friday, Dec. 6 episode of “Days of Our Lives.”

After she was forced to leave Eli (Lamon Archey) at the altar a year ago, Lani (Sal Stowers) found it too painful to stay in Salem, and as a result, she went to join a convent in Italy, determined to leave the pain of her life in Salem behind on the NBC soap. Similarly, she was joined by Kristen (Stacy Haiduk), who was facing her own pain after her baby with Brady (Eric Martsolf) died and she lashed out by killing Haley (Thia Megia). Now, both women are prepared to take their official vows, which means firmly leaving everything behind. However, that has triggered a rush to get Kristen’s shares of DiMera, leading to several people heading to Italy as a result.

Now, with more than a few people heading there, Lani may be shocked when one or more of them end u at the convent.

“Lani is stunned when she comes face-to-face with someone from Salem,” spoilers reveal.

Likely, the person she will run into unexpectedly will be the very same man she was forced to leave at the altar. Since she left town, Eli has reunited with Gabi (Camilla Banus), the same woman who forced Lani to give up everything out of vengeance for Stefan (Brandon Barash), and as her head of security as well, she ordered him to go to Rome to try and get Kristen’s shares before Chad (Billy Flynn) could. Since the race is on for control of DiMera, Eli hurried out—and if he is trying to find Kristen, seeing Lani at the convent is potentially part of the deal.

Of course, he isn’t the only person headed to Rome, though the other person coming along wasn’t actually invited—and has a far more sinister motive for going.

“JJ trails Eli, hoping he’ll lead him to Kristen,” spoilers sate.

JJ wants revenge on Kristen more than anything because of Haley’s death, which means letting him in the convent could be risky. In addition, he’s high since he became addicted to pills after the woman he loved died—which could mean that he’s even more dangerous. Regardless, with so many people from Salem descending upon the convent, it could mean that Lani and Kristen’s plans to leave everything behind won’t be as successful as they hoped.

“Days of Our Lives” airs weekdays on NBC.
