Define Conscious Uncoupling, Gwyneth Paltrow; Does It Mean You Cheated On Chris Martin?
In an unprecedented move, Gwyneth Paltrow announced her split from husband of 10 years Chris Martin via her website Goop and said they had “consciously uncoupled.” While some grappled over what the term meant, some began to remember those pesky cheating rumors the Hollywood actress battled not that long ago.
Radar Online showed a picture of the Oscar-winning “Shakespeare in Love” star about to kiss her ex-boyfriend Donovan Leith in September 2013. The news site wrote the two were at a Los Angeles Dodgers home game. Apparently Paltrow attended the game with her two children, Apple and Moses, but Martin was absent. Leith reportedly dated Paltrow prior to Brad Pitt. When asked about the photographs from the baseball game, Martin reportedly didn’t have a comment.

It’s not the only time the 41-year-old starlet has been subjected to cheating rumors. A month later, in October 2013, Vanity Fair asserted she cheated on her Coldplay singer husband about five years into their marriage.
The magazine said the tryst was with billionaire Jeff Soffer in 2008. The New York Times wrote in September she heard the magazine was going to expose her affair. “Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine,” she supposedly wrote. “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”
Though their split might have come as a shock to fans, the two “haven’t been a couple for years,” a source told the New York Daily News’ Confidential. “This news should surprise no one,” a source told the news site. “They haven’t been a couple for a number of years and have been pretending for the sake of the kids and each other’s careers.”
Her original statement on Goop read: “It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate,” read a joint statement on Paltrow’s lifestyle blog. “We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate.” It was signed, “Love, Gwyneth & Chris.”
