Planetary materials can be tedious to grind for in “Destiny 2” considering the sheer amount of each resource that players need on a regular basis.

Having no planetary resources on hand when visiting any of the Tower’s vendors or the Monument to Lost Lights can be frustrating, especially if “Destiny 2” players find their resource stocks completely exhausted. What’s even more annoying is how these resources seem incredibly hard to come across.

Here are some of the best ways to earn planetary materials that players should get into the habit of doing while playing “Destiny 2.”

Visit Spider

Apart from bounties, the Spider at the Tangled Shore will also provide players with a resource market of sorts. He will offer various resources in exchange for either Glimmer, Legendary Shards or other planetary resources for a decent exchange rate.

Every day, Spider will ask for different currencies for each of the resources he has on sale. It’s best to keep tabs on this NPC every day as he may sell a specific resource in exchange for a single Legendary Shard. Players can usually get five materials per shard this way, making this an excellent Legendary Shard dump for players who have way too many on their hands.

Patrols and Public Events

Players who want a more active but relaxed experience can opt to do patrols and events instead. Each of these activities gives a small number of planetary resources as rewards. To maximize resource gains, make sure to equip a resource-detecting Ghost mod so every resource node in the wild gets marked on the HUD.

Also, be sure to open up any chests along patrol routes. They usually contain a fair bit of planetary resources.

Location Bounties

While on the topic of patrols and events, make sure to always grab the daily bounties from the planet NPC. Each bounty will give a decent chunk of XP as well as 10 resources, making this a great way to supplement a player’s planetary endeavors with some extra rewards.

Target Farming Strikes

Players who want to hit multiple birds with one stone can opt to farm strikes directly from the Map screen instead. These will not only reward players with planetary resources, but they can also be great sources of Glimmer, Legendary Shards and Enhancement Cores.
