KEY POINTS

  • Solar 3.0 is very likely to arrive in Season 17
  • The Iron Banner rework is due to go live next season
  • A new raid and dungeon are also coming

There are two weeks left before the 17th season of “Destiny 2” begins, and fans are already feeling the excitement.

Bungie has teased a few things in the past regarding what players can expect in the new season, but the game developer has yet to drop concrete information regarding new story details, raids, dungeons and other exciting additions, such as the much-awaited new Light subclass update.

Here’s a round-up of everything that has been revealed about “Destiny 2” Season 17 so far, as well as a few leaks on what might be coming to the game this May 24.

Iron Banner Rework

Previously leaked in the middle of “Season of the Lost,” the rework for Iron Banner has been teased to be included with the launch of Season 17. Unfortunately, the exact details regarding this rework are still unknown save for some speculations from the community.

So far, the only confirmed information about the upcoming Iron Banner changes is the removal of the Occluded Finality sniper rifle and the Finite Impactor hand cannon.

The Trespasser and Solar 3.0 Rumors

A possible slip-up on Bungie’s part in its last giga-TWAB suggested that the exotic Trespasser sidearm from the “Destiny” will be returning alongside the rework for the Solar subclass.

According to the update, the Tempered Metal ability from Titans will grant a +20 buff to the upcoming Airborne stat after scoring a Solar weapon kill. Fans perceived this as a clue for Solar 3.0 because the live version of Tempered Metal only activates off ability kills and not weapons.

Meanwhile, the Japanese version of the TWAB accidentally listed the Trespasser sidearm in the list of weapons. For those who don’t know, the Trespasser is a burst-firing sidearm that gains longer and stronger bursts after getting a kill, like a modified version of the Desperado perk.

New Content

The Destiny Tracker Twitter page listed the upcoming content for Season 17, which includes most of the information covered in previous developer blog posts, such as the weapon sandbox changes and weekly Raid and Dungeon rotator.

Some members of community Discord servers claimed that Season 17 will feature Rasputin and the return of SIVA, but there is no evidence to support these rumors.
