‘Devious Maids’ Season 3 Spoilers: Rosie Chooses Between Spence And Ernesto In Episode 6 [RECAP]
Sparks were flying in Season 3, episode 6 of “Devious Maids” – specifically in the first scene of the episode, titled “She Done Him Wrong.” Adrian (Tom Irwin) is blackmailing Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) to participate in his most extreme sexual fantasy, which just so happens to involve electrocution. But Carmen is a bit hesitant to shock her boss – that is, until he mocks her singing.
Infuriated, Carmen turns the dial way up on the machine, causing her employer to convulse in such immense pain that he passes out. Carmen immediately calls for an ambulance – but not before changing her boss out of his leather ensemble and into something more suitable for a hospital visit.
Adrian wasn’t the only one who ended up in a hospital in episode 6. Taylor (Brianna Brown) also is sent to receive medical care after Katy (Grecia Merino) slips her mother one too many pills in a glass of wine. But it is later revealed that Taylor is going to survive her daughter’s accidental drugging.
“They think it was a suicide attempt,” Marisol (Ana Ortiz) informs Michael (Brett Cullen), who is beside himself. “I never meant ...” Taylor’s husband says, choked up, feeling guilty about the fight he had with his wife prior to the incident.
Meanwhile, Evelyn (Rebecca Wisocky) is ever so thankful that Carmen was with Adrian at the moment he had his seizure. But her feelings quickly change when she learns that Carmen is the one responsible for putting her husband in the hospital in the first place – not to mention jeopardizing his life (the doctor told Adrian that his little hobby could be fatal).
In episode 6, Marisol advises Carmen to tell Evelyn the truth about how Adrian was blackmailing her to slap him around. But when Carmen does finally – and reluctantly -- come forward, Evelyn responds by giving Carmen the ax.
However, Marisol advises Evelyn that perhaps that isn’t the route she wants to take. After all, Carmen could sue for wrong termination, resulting in a multimillion-dollar lawsuit. Evelyn rapidly changes her tune and tells Carmen to go back to work.
Rosie (Dania Ramirez) also was faced with a dilemma in episode 6: the ongoing choice between Spence (Grant Show) and Ernesto (Cristian de la Fuente). Spence’s wife flip-flops between her choices but ultimately tells Spence in the end that she’s still in love with her first husband (who she ends up kissing in episode 6).
“I’ve been trying to fight it but I can’t deny it anymore,” Rosie tells Spence. “I am so sorry.”
Rosie explains to Spence that she never stopped loving Ernesto and it’s not fair to him to have a wife who also loves another man.
“Rosie, don’t do this,” Spence says before she walks out.
While one couple was experiencing trouble in paradise, another duo’s relationship was blooming. After a few glasses of wine, Marisol and Jesse (Nathan Owens) finally give viewers what they want and lock lips in a seriously sexy scene. But their kiss is cut short when Jesse pulled away. This leaves Marisol thinking that perhaps she had read Jesse’s signals wrong.
“He was being a good maid and I was being a predator,” she tells Carmen before comparing herself to Adrian Powell.
But as it turns out, the reason Jesse pulled away from Marisol’s kiss is that he wanted their first romantic moment to take place on a sober note.
“I was trying to be a gentleman,” he says, adding that he’s been dreaming of kissing her lips from the first moment her met her.
Zoila had drama of her own take place in episode 6 when her sister arrived to Genevieve’s (Susan Lucci) door.
“Last time I saw you, you stole my car,” Zoila tells her younger sister Reina (Justina Machado). But little did Zoila know that her old Saturn wouldn't be the only thing Reina took from her!
Zoila learns from Reina’s husband, who is currently divorcing her, that Reina cheated on him with several men – including Pablo (Alex Fernandez)!
“Sisters share but they don’t share that,” Zoila angrily says to her “evil bruja” of a sister, who slept with her ex-husband. This eventually leads to a confrontation between the siblings that results in the expectant mother falling down a flight of stairs.
But thankfully Zoila’s baby sustains no injuries.
“I think she’s going to be just fine,” the doctor tells Zoila, accidentally revealing the sex of the child. This causes Zoila to break down in tears. According to Zoila, she wasn’t sure she wanted to have a baby until that exact moment. Now she can’t picture her life without the baby girl growing in her belly.
Speaking of children, after having a heart-to-heart with little Katy (who ran away from home), Evelyn decides she wants to become a mother again – and Adrian is going to make it happen ... that is, if he wants to continue with his deathly “perversions.”
“Your perversions will kill you and I refuse to be alone,” she tells her hospitalized husband. “You have to give me something I want. I want a child.”
Episode 6 of “Devious Maids” ends with Michael telling Katy she can’t run away again because “bad people” are looking for her.
“Are you going to call me Katy forever?” she inquires.
“That’s your name now,” he says, teasing Katy might have something to do with the string of murders occurring in Beverly Hills.
"Devious Maids" airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Lifetime.
