Diane Kruger Wins Best Actress At Cannes 2017; Norman Reedus, Joshua Jackson React

Norman Reedus and Joshua Jackson are both thrilled with Diane Kruger’s best actress win at Cannes Film Festival 2017.

Reedus, who is rumored to be Kruger’s boyfriend, expressed his joy about the actress’ victory in an Instagram post with the caption: “YESSSSS ♥♥♥. ”

Jackson, who is Kruger’s ex-boyfriend, is equally happy with the actress’ latest accomplishment. The “Affair” star took to Instagram to congratulate Kruger.

Kruger won the best actress award for her role as Katja Sekerci in Faith Akin’s drama film “In the Fade.” According to Entertainment Tonight, Kruger dedicated her award to victims of terror, which is a nod to the film.

“In the Fade” tells the story of Katja (Kruger), whose ex-drug trafficker husband Nuri (Numan Acar) and their 5-year-old son Rocco were killed in a nail bomb attack. While Katja suspects that her husband’s Kurdish background might have something to do with his death, the police initially thinks that Nuri’s former fellow drug traffickers are responsible for the attack. Nuri and Rocco’s deaths leave Katja with no reason to continue living, but eventually decides she wants justice and revenge.

Meanwhile, rumors that Kruger and Reedus are dating first surfaced when New York Daily News reported that the two were seen “wildly making out” in an East Village dive bar in December 2015.

“They were laughing and having fun and then she just literally got out of her chair and straddled him and we were all like, ‘what the hell,’” an eyewitness told the newspaper at the time. “They were all over each other. She was a lot more aggressive than him.”

Another onlooker added: “They were making out on top of each other, holding hands.”

When that story made headlines, Jackson — who was still in a relationship with Kruger at the time —was in Dumaguete City, Philippines, filming National Geographic’s “#YEARSproject.”

Seven months after the alleged cheating scandal broke, Kruger and Jackson split. “Diane Kruger and Josh Jackson have decided to separate and remain friends,” reps for both actors confirmed to People last July.

Kruger and Jackson began dating in 2006. Although they were together for a decade, they never got engaged or married. “I can tell you why we're not married: We’re not religious,” Jackson explained to Glamour in 2014. “I don’t feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party. We’re both children of divorce, so it’s hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you’ve grown up and are committed to another person.”

Kruger, however, was previously married to French actor Guillaume Canet from 2001 to 2006.
