Did Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie Children Custody Battle Finally End? Here’s Clarification
How true is it that Brad Pitt finally gets custody with his five children with Angelina Jolie?
To the public’s knowledge, Pitt and Jolie’s children custody battle are still ongoing and the report of New Idea referred to the “Ad Astra” actor getting the custody of their five children, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne for “Thanksgiving.”
The news site further quoted a source telling In Touch, an American publication, that Pitt was afraid that his ex, Jolie, would keep their kids with her. Apparently, the “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” actress let their children go home. According to the supposed source, it was a huge act considering the complications of the divorce proceedings and the custody battles. Pitt was reportedly thrilled and saw it as a huge breakthrough for him and their children.
The alleged source added how Pitt proved he’s a changed man and a better father so when Jolie asked her children how they felt about spending Thanksgiving with their father, they were reportedly open to it. Pitt reportedly will organize a traditional turkey dinner.
Since the Jolie and Pitt’s split, their children lived with their mom. Pitt was reportedly given more time with their children but he wanted a 50/50 physical custody. Despite Pitt’s outspoken desire, Jolie wanted to maintain sole physical custody.
A lawyer, however, told Hollywood Life in October that Jolie might lose the custody battle. David T. Pisarra, a Family Law Attorney in California, reportedly said that unless the court saw Pitt’s unfitness as a parent, it’s unlikely that the judge would grant the sole custody to Jolie.
Jolie was reportedly being unreasonable considering that Pitt’s a good father and cares about their children; hence, the sole custody was unreasonable.
David explained to the news outlet what a primary custody was, pointing out that it meant one parent has custody of the kids more than 50 percent of the time. What she was probably asking, according to him, was sole legal and sole physical custody. That meant she would have the right to take their children wherever she goes and make decisions for them.
Although Jolie may reportedly have the primary custody —she spends more than 50 percent of the time with their children— but that doesn’t imply that she has the right to make all the decisions for them.
It was earlier reported by Daily Mail that Jolie, in an interview, said that she wanted to live overseas. Currently, however, she would have to live where Pitt chooses to love, although, she said that she would that once the kids turn 18.
