Did Prince William Make The Right Decision To Wait Before Proposing To Kate?
Prince William and Kate Middleton have been married for eight years, but their wedding didn’t come easy.
It was previously revealed that the future king decided to wait before asking for Middleton’s hand in marriage. On the online forum site Quora, royal fans said that Prince William might have made the right decision to not immediately wed the Duchess of Cambridge.
Eileen Wood, a Republican since 1977, said that the second in line to the throne must have wanted for Middleton to be 100 percent sure first that she’s willing to undertake the life of the future Queen or Queen Consort.
Wood also said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s decision to wait until they tied the knot was the right thing to do. The royal fan used Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as an example and said that the royal couple wed shortly after they started dating, and they are being criticized almost every day.
Chris Hawkes, a supporter of constitutional monarchy, said that Prince William didn’t jump into marrying Middleton immediately because he was aware of what happened to his mom, Princess Diana.
“William knew that his mother was hounded to her death by the intrusive media, spurred on her vapid worshippers. And he knew that Catherine would face the same media attention demanded by haters, adulators, or both in one package,” he said.
Jen Smith said that Prince William must have wanted Middleton to be sure about her feelings for him.
“Life as a royal is hard enough, especially for those who marry into and haven’t grown up in it. And Catherine wasn’t just going to marry someone who happened to be related to the King, or even a younger son of the future King – and, therefore, marrying into the Royal Family a comfortable distance away from the throne,” he said.
Since their marriage, Prince William and Middleton have already been blessed with three children together.
