Does Queen Elizabeth II Wear A Wig When Out In Public?
Queen Elizabeth II always looks neat and fresh when she’s out in public.
As such, royal fans have become fascinated with the fact that her hair always seems well kept. A rumor suggesting that Her Majesty wears a wig started circulating after a scary incident that took place at the Buckingham Palace.
In 1982, an intruder named Michael Fagan broke into the palace, and he managed to find the monarch’s bedroom. After he was arrested, Fagan claimed that he saw a wig on the Queen’s makeup table. He also said that he didn’t know why he decided to break into the palace but something got into his head.
After saying that he found a wig inside the Queen’s bedroom, Fagan decided to retract his statement during his interview with Daily Star.
“All that stuff that’s been written about her wearing a wig, a baby doll nightie, and whispering sweet nothings is rubbish. It’s not even worth thinking about,” he said.
Royal blogger Marilyn Braun also said that there has never been any proof that the Queen wears a wig. It is possible that she was really blessed with thick healthy hair despite her age of 93.
“In all of the books I’ve read about her, I don’t think I’ve ever heard about her wearing wigs. I’m going to say no… I don’t think the Queen wears wigs,” she wrote on her blog.
In related news, the Queen also made headlines recently after it was reported that she will attend the funeral of one of her adored royal aides who passed away. The Queen is also reportedly upset over the passing of Annette Wilkin, who started working for her in 1974. Wilkin died at the age of 72.
Daily Mail’s royal correspondent Rebecca English said that it is very rare for the Queen to attend funerals if the person that died is not a member of the royal family. As such, her attendance at Wilkin’s wake may be considered an honor for her former royal aide and her family.
