A man feared for his life when a naked stranger attacked him and his pet dog after escaping from a psychiatric hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

Andrew Wilson returned home from McDonald's early Friday when the suspect ran toward his car in the driveway. The 19-year-old suspect, whose name was not revealed, suddenly dived into the vehicle and began attacking him and his pet. The attack lasted for 13 minutes during which the man bit both of them.

Recalling the incident, Wilson said, “He took a bite out of my arm and then bit my maltese terrier, Beau, and tried to literally pull him apart - it was horrific. He had pushed me out of my car onto the road and I was screaming 'help me, help me, please someone help me' - I thought I was going to die. He grabbed my eyes and he tried to gouge them out. He then tried to bite off my finger.”

Meanwhile, the canine managed to escape with the help of its owner and ran onto a neighbor’s backyard. The neighbor, Conor Haire, rushed to Wilson's aid and alerted the police.

"I came out the front and Andrew was across the road, holding someone down. I just grabbed the baseball bat and thought I'd be there to protect my family," Haire said.

Officers arrived at the scene and wrestled with the 19-year-old. Wilson was rushed to a nearby hospital with severe injuries to his upper body. The suspect too was “taken to hospital for assessment.”

The ordeal was captured on a CCTV. In the video, Wilson can be heard screaming, "He's killing me! Somebody help me!"

The condition of the dog was not known and no charges were laid as of Monday.
