Donald Trump Wasn’t Thrilled About Marla Maples’ Pregnancy; Tiffany Raised By Single Mom

Donald Trump was not thrilled when he learned about Marla Maples’ pregnancy.

Trump has one daughter with second wife Maples. However, the president of the United States wasn’t very excited when he learned that Maples’ was expecting their first child together.

“I'm glad it happened. I have a great little daughter, Tiffany,” Trump said on “The Howard Stern Show” in 2004. “But, you know, at the time it was like, ‘Excuse me, what happened?’ And then I said, ‘Well, what are we going to do about this?’ [Marla] said, ‘Are you serious? It’s the most beautiful day of our lives.’ I said, ‘Oh, great.’”

Trump and Maples’ marriage didn’t last long. They only stayed married for four years and got divorced in 1999. Maples raised Tiffany as a single mom and they were always close. She said that the POTUS was a good provider, but he didn’t have time for their daughter.

“Her daddy is a good provider with education and such, but as far as time, it was just me,” Maples said. “Her father wasn’t able to be there with day-to-day skills as a parent. He loves his kids. There’s no doubt. But everything was a bit of a negotiation.”

Trump’s first wife Ivana Trump also said the same thing about the POTUS. Ivana and Trump share three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka and Eric. Ivana said that Trump was a good provider and a loving father, but he was not involved in their kids growing up.

In an interview with People in 2016, Tiffany said that she grew up in California and she spent most of the time with her mom. They drove to school together and enjoyed carpooling, singing songs, and dancing around. Trump’s second daughter also teased her mom by making fun of her dance moves.

Maples and Kris Jenner were friends because they live near each other even before “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” started. Tiffany is the same age as Kendall Jenner and they went to school nearby each other. However, Maples kept her out of the spotlight.

The mother and daughter moved to New York with Maples letting Tiffany grow up and find her own identity. Trump’s daughter understood that her mom only wanted her to have a normal childhood and she was convinced that Maples did well on that.
