Draya Michele Update: ‘Basketball Wives LA’ Star Promotes Mint Swim Line On Instagram

While Draya Michele is fighting with Mehgan James on the new season of VH1’s “Basketball Wives LA,” the reality TV star-turned-businesswoman is promoting her new fashion line, Mint Swim, on Instagram. She posted several bathing suits to her social media account Wednesday, each with its own name.

Michele posed in suits named, “Dolce,” “Jasmin” and “SAM.” The bathing suits vary in prices. While some are upwards of $100, other ensembles can be snagged for $50. She was inspired by her fans to create the line, the designer told Yahoo Tuesday. She plans to expand to plus-size line in the future. “I wanted them to be really sexy and chic,” Draya told the website.

It’s not just her fans who wear her swimsuits. The line has attracted the likes of singers Zendaya Coleman and Selena Gomez. “Wearing it is the biggest compliment they could give me,” Draya said.

Though Draya likes to use her Instagram page to promote her fashion line to her 3.8 million followers, she stays away from IG when “Basketball Wives LA” is on television. “My profile is private over the weekend while the show is on, because I don’t really care to see everyone’s comments about the show,” she told Yahoo. “I don’t want my Instagram page associated with the show.”

That could be because some of the things she does and says on reality television have nothing to do with her fashion line. For instance, she caused a stir with her fellow castmate, Mehgan James, when she said that she had a “fupa.” For those who many not know, a “fupa” is an acronym for “fat upper pelvic area.” Many times, people use a less polite word in place of “pelvic.”
