Duchess Camilla Won’t Support Prince Andrew Amid Epstein Scandal After Princess Diana Betrayal
Due to Prince Andrew’s connection to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his controversial interview, he has stepped away from his royal duties. Although he may be receiving emotional support from some members of the royal family, an insider revealed Camilla Parker Bowles isn’t one of them.
Following Camilla’s difficult entry into the royal family, those close to her revealed she won’t forget the way Prince Andrew failed to support her during her time of need. Camilla began carrying on an affair with Prince Charles while he was still married to Princess Diana.
Although Charles divorced Diana and continued his relationship with Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall was often criticized by the public for ruining the Princess of Wales’ marriage. After Diana’s death in 1997, the public once again lashed out at Camilla.
Queen Elizabeth’s hesitance to accept Camilla into the royal family made the former mistress feel more alone than ever. A source told the Daily Mail, that the Duchess of Cornwall “hasn’t forgotten” that Andrew never helped her.
“Camilla has always felt Andrew could have done more. The Queen listens to Andrew, and he could have helped his brother at a time when he had few allies within the family,” the insider revealed.
“In fact, I would go so far as to say he was deeply unhelpful when support would have meant a huge amount to her and the Prince. Looking back to when there was little public sympathy for Charles and Camilla, if not open hostility, it was a case of Andrew playing politics. Camilla hasn’t forgotten.”
Although Camilla may not have sympathy for Prince Andrew, she does care for his daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. “She is fond of Eugenie and her sister, Beatrice,” a source revealed.
The Princesses as well as their mother, Sarah Ferguson, have remained supportive of Prince Andrew throughout his scandal and have shown no signs of abandoning him.
