“Duck Dynasty” star Sadie Robertson has confirmed, “the news is true.” The 22-year-old opened up about the drive-by shooting that happened at her father Willie Robertson’s estate on April 24.

“Just wanted to say we are all okay,” she wrote on Instagram Sunday. “It shook us all up of course, but we are just so thankful everyone in our family is okay. Especially after one of the bullets flew through the window of my brothers home.”

Police in Monroe, Louisiana, have arrested a 38-year-old man, Daniel King Jr., who is charged with the incident, USA Today reported. Willie claimed that King shot around eight to 10 bullets onto his property. One bullet flew through the home where his son John Luke Robertson, his wife Mary Kate McEachern, and their infant child live.

Sadie explained that the “timing” of the shooting was “crazy protection” because the family had all been outside only minutes earlier.

“The timing of where we were at the time was crazy protection because we had all just gone inside,” Sadie wrote.

Sadie chose a family photo to post alongside her Instagram address of the incident. The photo includes her siblings John Luke, Bella Robertson, Rebecca Robertson, Willie Robertson Jr., her parents Willie and Korie Robertson, and her husband Christian Huff.

The shooting comes amid Sadie's assistance in helping other brides feel better about having to cancel or postpone their own weddings amidst COVID-19, Entertainment Tonight reported last month. The reality star and Huff were married in November 2019.

“So, my idea was just to write them a letter on their wedding day,” she said at the time.

Surprised by the number of responses she received, the reality star gave a three-month free subscription to LO Fam, her empowerment website which provides "prayer, support, and encouragement" to all brides who contacted her and filled out a form.

Sadie has always been outspoken about her Christian upbringing. In her Instagram post about the shooting, she said she and her family have found comfort in Psalm 91.

“We have been resting on Psalm 91 and each other’s gratitude for all being okay,” she said. “Thank you for your prayers.”
