Off-Duty Officer Shoots Groper in Harlem
An off-duty police officer and an alleged groper got into a struggle on Friday in Harlem that ended with the suspect in the hospital.
The officer was talking with a friend when on West 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue. Around 12:30 p.m., the officer several women approach the MTA booth and the clerk that they had been groped, reported the New York Post.
The officer went to investigate the scene and found a man, Jacob Sanford, 22, standing nearby. However, Sanford quickly fled the scene once the officer approached him, said the Post. The pfficer chased after him. A struggle ensued in which a weapon was discharged. Sanford was struck and rushed to Harlem Hospital in stable condition. The officer was not injured, reported the Post.
