Hollywood star Dwayne Johnson has opened up about his friendship with the late actor and co-star Paul Walker by sharing an endearing tribute on the latter’s 46th birthday on social media.

The 47-year-old actor posted a picture of himself alongside Walker on Instagram and shared how he always stopped himself from talking about his friend on various social media platforms. But now he’s compelled to talk about “life” and “how fragile it is” when one of his close friends, Kevin Hart, was involved in a car crash recently.

“I never post about my friend. Personal thing, but I prefer to keep our memories and bond private and quiet. But something about today compelled me as a moving reminder of how fragile is life for all of us,” Dwayne began his Instagram caption.

The “Ballers” actor revealed that he bonded with his “Fast and Furious” co-star over the “pride” they took of being fathers to such beautiful children.

“It’s Paul’s birthday and rightfully so, his legacy celebrated around the world. Our friendship was bonded over our daughters, Medow and Simone and the pride and protection we took being their fathers,” Dwayne wrote.

“And recently, I got a scare when I almost lost another friend on the road. All this stuff got me thinking about how beautiful, yet wildly unpredictable life is. We never know what’s around the corner, so we gotta live as greatly as we can in the honor of our loved ones,” he added.

The photo of Dwayne and Walker that’s shared on Instagram was taken at the premiere of the 2011 movie “Fast Five,” which was their first film together.

Walker tragically passed away in November 2013 after suffering major burns and trauma injuries when his Porsche crashed in Los Angeles. On the other hand, Hart is undergoing “intense physical therapy” to fully recuperate from the injuries he obtained from the car accident.

The “Ride Along” star underwent surgery for the three spinal fractures and spent 10 days in a California hospital prior to his transfer to a rehab facility.

Meanwhile, Johnson will next be seen in “Jumanji: The Next Level,” a sequel to the 2017 hit “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.” Directed by Jake Kasdan, the movie will hit theatres on Dec. 13, 2019.
